HOMECOMING 2010
(start making your plans NOW!)
This information is taken straight out of the fall newsletter:
'The "Headquarters for Homecoming 2010" will be at the Waco Hilton, 113 S. University Parks Drive, Waco, TX 76701. The Hilton is guaranteed to the Association 135 rooms for us Easter weekend (10 rooms for Thursday night, April 1; 60 rooms for Friday night; and 65 rooms for Saturday night, April 3) until 4pm on March 15. After March 15, any of the 135 rooms not reserved by MCH alumni and friends will no longer be guaranteed for our use, as they will become available to the general public. And reservations made after March 9 will not receive the $102 group room rate (you may pay $139 or more for comparable rooms).
You will be pleased to know that the 'room rate' of $102 plus taxes per night - single or double - is only $3 more than we paid the last two years. Make your reservations now by calling 1-800-445-8667 or 254-754-8484 (both numbers go directly to the Waco Hilton). Tell them you are with the "Methodist Children's Home Alumni Association" and/or give them our code "FMHA" to get the $102 group room rate.'
Go to the Hilton Website for information on the property and to book your reservation online. You add the group code "FMHA" after you check rates for the dates you want, during the booking process (in the area marked 'group/convention code:')
HOMECOMING DINNNER 2010
We will be having our Dinner/Dance on Saturday night, April 3. We encourage everyone to come and enjoy the company of their fellow alumni. The dinner/dance allows many alumni to visit and catch up on old friendships that they may end up missing because they are unable to attend activities that are held on Sunday.
The location of the dinner will be at the Hilton Hotel. This year's dinner will be a buffet with entertainment to be announced. We will be trying to work on something different than a band this year.
As in the past, the dinner/dance is FREE to all members of the alumni, their families, friends and MCH staff members with donations being welcomed. ALL donations will go toward our Association's goal of $500,000 for the endowment fund. We are very close to reaching this goal and invite everyone wh can to help us obtain it. None of the money received will go toward the dinner; it all goes to the fund. Remember, we are now a non-profit organization, so all donations (minus the cost of the meal) will be tax deductible. Even those who are unable to attend this year's Homecoming can participate. Please make your check payable to the Methodist Children's Home Alumni Association and mail it to: Mike Dickerson, MCHAA Treasurer, 11514 Buckrail Street, San Antonio, TX 78232.
RESERVATIONS for the dinner can be made by contacting: John White at white_john@att.net if you have email (please put MCHAA Dinner in the subject line) or call 713-529-6314. Be sure to let him know how many are in your party. OR you can fill out the form below and we will make sure John gets the information.
