MCHAA welcomes, and relies on your generous donations. There are a few different ways you can donate to the association: Please scroll down to see Donations, Endowment Fund and Dinner/Dance donation options as well.
1)DUES
Paying your annual dues of at least $10 is what keeps us going. You are welcome to give more than $10 but the minimum is $10 and anything over will automatically go toward general donation, unless you instruct otherwise. Paying dues also helps with overall cost of the association, and things like the quarterly newsletter development expense and distribution, and enables you to receive the Alumni Address Book given to each member who has paid their dues for the year.
2) GENERAL DONATION:
The general donation will go toward general operating costs of the organization.
3) ENDOWMENT FUND:
The MCH Alumni Associations Endowment Fund is a means for all alumni to give something back to their beloved institution that was there for them in their time of need. The fund was formally established during the Home's centennial year in 1990, with all funds raised by alumni - some $170.000 - gifted to the Home with the understanding that only the earning from the 'endowed funds and future donations' could be used for projects that would enhance the lives of children and youth of the Home. Thus your donation today will never be spent - only the earning from it, on projects like: the brick wall and entrance along Herring Avenue in 1990; the assisting in converting the Zimmerman home unit into a health care facility in 1994; the building of the Alumni Pavillion in 2000; the purchase of and installation of the audio and video system for the Harrell Memmorial Chapel in 2005; assisting in the building of the Boys Ranch Recreation and Activities Center in 2009; and, the planting of an annual MCHAA Memorial tree on campus or the Boys Ranch in 2009; and many future projects.
The $170,000 or so endowed in 1990 has grown to over $510,000 - through the generosity of alumni like you. The goal is to increase the MCHAA Endowment Fund to $750,000 by 2020 and use the earning to continue to enhance the lives of children and youth of MCH. Thank YOU for your donation!
4)ANNUAL DINNER/DANCE DONATION:
The Annual Homecoming Dinner/Dance is a very large expense and if you donate here, you can be a tremendous help in taking care of some of the cost of this event. If you've been to one of these events, you know it is FREE, but it does have to be paid for and you can help! $5, $10, $100.. no amount is too small or too big. The association does not use donated money for this event, donations for the event are separate so that is why it is important to make a special donation separate from your normal one.
